Offshore Grid Levy pursuant to Section 17 Energy Industry Act
According to section 17f of the German Energy Industry Act, the German transmission system operators are obliged to transparently calculate the offshore grid levy (up to and including 2018 called "offshore liability levy") for the following calendar year and to publish their calculations by October 15th of a calendar year.
The revenue from the offshore grid levy is used to cover costs incurred from compensation for disruptions of the grid connection of offshore wind farms as well as the costs for constructing and operating offshore connection lines.
