The Belgian authorities have introduced a Capacity Remuneration Mechanism (CRM) with a view to maintaining the required level of security of supply for Belgium. The first delivery period will be 2025 to 2026. The Belgian transmission system operator Elia is responsible for implementing the capacity mechanism.

This may also be of interest to German capacity operators, as the EU Commission has defined conditions for the cross-border participation of foreign capacities as part of the "Clean Energy Package" (CEP) legislative package.
