working on the transmission grid
Electricians, engineers, geologists, accountants, political scientists, architects and people from all conceivable fields build power lines, maintain systems, manage the balance between generation and consumption and formulate ideas for the smart grid of tomorrow and beyond. Their common goal is to secure the energy supply and make the energy transition a reality.
Alongside his colleagues, Walther Seeger looks after 1,727 kilometres of line routes and 5,750 pylons.
Marcell Ott makes sure that everything runs smoothly at our 49 transformer stations and the lights never go out.
The fitters from the Plant Operation division inspect line routes from the air using a helicopter.
Dr Isabell Nolte and Dr Alain Kaptue Kamga develop and plan for the ultra-high-voltage grid of tomorrow.
Daniel Kolb and Norbert Ivenz control, monitor and maintain the transmission grid in Baden-Württemberg.
working on the transmission grid
TransnetBW’s headquarters are located in the heart of the state capital, in the middle of the Europa district between the central station, Killesberg and Pragsattel. This is where people from the Technology & Projects, Grid Management, Asset Management, IT, Finance and Central Functions departments work across a total of three office locations.
This is the beating heart of the transmission grid. The System Management, Special IT and Plant Operation departments control the transmission grid throughout Baden-Württemberg from here and coordinate the deployment of colleagues in the area.
Distributed across Baden-Württemberg, the Plant Operation division with operating sites in Hechingen, Niederstotzingen, Neckarwestheim, Goldshöfe, Daxlanden and Eichstetten am Kaiserstuhl is responsible for the maintenance, repair and commissioning of our grid assets.
Alte Dampfwaschanstalt in Würzburg’s Zellerau district has been the site of the new project for the SuedLink direct current cable since 2021. This is where support is provided for planning and approval procedures as well as the subsequent monitoring of SuedLink’s construction phase.
The European Affairs and National Policy teams represent us in our offices in the capital and in Europe.
